My love of working with wood began at the age of 12 growing up in a small town of Perth Andover, New Brunswick. Although my father was not a woodworker, I was always attracted to thr grains in the firewood we would cut in the spring.

After a short class in woodworking at school I was hooked and began making white cedar blanket chests and jewlery boxes with very few hand tools.

Over the years I have worked in various senior levels of Banking, two years with a gold exploration company which was a dream as I had the oportunity to travel the world and see exotic woods that were just stunning, vacation in South America and spend most of my time visiting small mills and artists etc.

In 1986 when I built my home, I also built a woodworking shop and began my collection of tools.

In 1994 I started making crafts and picture frames and selling them at the Halifax Farmers Market. In 2003 Halifax was hit with Hurricane Juan, my son was 12 at the time and we started collecting burls and figured wood from trees that were down in the city, we collected over 12 truck loads. I tought him wood turning and he was hooked. Over the years we have continued to sell our work at the market which has been very successful, we also ship our products around the world.

A close friend Bryon has joined our team helping fill a void in our turning offerings as my son is now in University, Bryon shares a love of the amazing woods we work with and offeres a great addition to our selection.
